Hi, I’m Leah. I’m a writer and former graphic designer. I’m a single and co-parenting mom. I identify as pansexual/queer. I live on the island of Unama’ki (Cape Breton), in Nova Scotia, Canada. My pronouns are she/her or they/them.

My day job is a School Liaison with the local office of Nova Scotia Works, a job which I love because it allows me to connect with High School Students and help them guide their journeys.

This site is my home on the Internet. I share random thoughts on my blog. I have poems and (soon) stories up here. As I'm currently employed full-time, I'm not taking on freelance clients, but I will consider freelance writing work on a case-by-case basis, so if you have a project you think I'd be interested in, please just contact me.

You may also know me from: For three years (2012 to 2015) I wrote a blog called "Dream Big Cape Breton," which was all about my life as a young person living on this fabulous - yet sometimes difficult - island, and all about the lives, work and dreams of other people that live here too. The full archives of that blog are still up, including loads of interviews, and you can access them here.

Thanks for reading, and I’d love to hear from you! The Internet may sometimes feel like a vast and deep rabbit hole, but it can also be a great place to connect across the kilometers with new friends. My Contact page is here.

Cheers!

-Leah
